Unhyped China is run by David Feng. Born in Beijing, he grew up in Zürich and is presently in London after 14 years in China. In Beijing, he became actively involved in the tech world by starting a Mac user group, then tweeting and blogging about tech. He has spoken at many tech and social media-related events, including the Chinese Blogger Conference, TEDx, as well as Ignite events. In 2008, he started this independent techblog86. He is now Visiting Academic and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster’s China Media Centre, where his focus of research is on social media in China, very much still related to the tech world in China.
