…miles away from anything like the stuff of legend a la the Masaai Mara. (Seriously, I’m no “animal-ologist”, so if the mountain lion (real creature!) doesn’t live in the Masaai Mara, you know, don’t throw things at me… Update: Turns out the mountain lion lives in the Americas…
I’m now crawling OK on Mac OS X 10.8. Crawling because it’s just very early days with the new OS.
At the very beginning, Launchpad acted odd. It made the screen go dark (but not go black) when I summoned it. Thankfully, this was fixed with a restart, as were odd cases of the Mac App Store not downloading stuff for me.
Presently the thing I’m a little grumpy about is that Messages isn’t synching to my iPhone 4 (the old guy). I think I’ll have to wait until 10.8.1 is out before it might get fixed. But for all the other conveniences, including the new, independent Notes and Reminder apps, I’m all for it. And I love I can tweet from the Mac itself (instead of opening up Twitter as a web page). I’m hoping that my early jump to Mountain Lion is worth it.
Update: So far the first day wasn’t precisely hell (thank God no data losses!), but I did have a heckuva hard time setting up iCloud right, and the uploads took forever here in China (a tad faster if you’re on a VPN). In my circle of close Mac friends I seem to have been an early adopter. That’s both good news and bad!
