TechCrunch Throws Drinks Party at the Beijing Bookworm

May 20, 2009 | Filed Under Uncategorized |

The Bookworm in the Jing (that’s Beijing for the slang-impaired) has witnessed a fair share of 2.0 events as of late. The official inaugural (not pre-inaugural) Beijing Tweetup (#bjtweetup) was held here in late March 2008, as yours truly (@DavidFeng) co-hosted the event with Siok Siok Tan (@sioksiok).

Tonight, the same venue hosted another 2.0 event — what may very well be the first-ever TechCrunch meetup in the Jing. The Drinks Party, thrown by Sarah Lacy and TechCrunch, featured nary an Arrington sighting, but did bring out some of the more 2.0 tweeple in Beijing.

Featured today were folks such as George Godula (@Web2Asia) of Web2Asia fame, as well as film-maker extraordinaire and wannabe Beijing Subway diehard Siok Siok Tan (@sioksiok). @fuzheado (Andrew Lih), of the Wikipedia book fame, also came back to the capital, as did other folks.

Here are a few pics to throw around… enjoy!

It's that easy: We don't censor things except for porn, spam and libel.
